Interestingly the english language doesn’t have a term that encapsulates the full meaning of  “wehrhafte” democracy. Wehrhaft is so much more than defensive, protected or guarded. It encompasses resiliency and a smart and at times painful defensive fight for the western value system.

We should recount Stoltenberg’s words from 2011 when thinking about the most suitable reaction to IS today.
