Minimizing Jet-Lag

I’ve found the following steps useful to minimize Jet-Lag when traveling Eastwards:

  • Eat vegetarian food starting 2 days before the flight
  • Water fast for 36+ hours from 10 hours before the flight
    • this means no solid food or snacks during the flight
    • no alcoholic drinks
  • Sleep/rest on the flight Eastwards, stay awake on the flight westwards
  • Break fast with heavy vegetarian lunch in new time zone
  • Stay awake until new time zone’s evening
  • sleep for 12 hours
  • Breakfast light on carbs
  • heavy lunch
  • Go outside sit in the sun early in the morning
  • No alcohol for 2 more days in the new time zone
  • work-out if possible
