Ro: Daddy, does your bed fit into the car?
Me: no, it’s too big!

Ro: does *my* bed fit into the car?

Me: no, it’s still too big!

Ro: does a toddler bed fit into the car?

Me: Why do you want to fit a bed into the car?

Ro: Always, when you pick me up I’m so tired!

me: Do I like *what*?

Ro: Tacks!

me: What’s that?

Ro: The animal that eats blood.

me: Oh, you mean ticks! No I don’t like ticks.

Ro: Because they eat all your blood and then make you dead, right?

me: They don’t kill me by drinking all my blood, but they can make me very sick. That’s why I don’t like them.

Ro: do you kill them?

me (not wanting to admit that I  kill animals sometimes): If I have a tick, I’ll take care of them…

Ro: Noo!?!! You take care of *me*!

Yeah.

I never thought of it that we use “taking care of someone” in two completey different ways…
