Baby Logic #53 – Death – revisited.

Ro: Daddy, I’m sad. I don’t want you to die.

me: I’m not dying. Eventually we all have to go, but I won’t die any time soon. Look, mommy’s and daddy’s parents are still alive!

Ro: … and I don’t want mommy to die.

me: no, I don’t want her to die either.

me <big mistake>: but you know: death is part of life. we all die eventually. Everyone of us. That’s just how life is.

Ro: when we die, we can come back.

meL maybe.

Ro: i *want* to!

me: me, too. But you know, some part of me lives on in you and some part of you lives on in me.

Ro: which part?

me: that’s hard to say, but I can feel it!

Ro: me, too!

me: I love you! Give me a hug!

Ro: I love you, too – all the way up to space!!!!

Rainbow

I just watched a silly Subaru commercial on TV which reminded me of just how much Ro loves real rainbows! He always asks when it rains if we will see one. He’s so curious – just like his favorite character “Curious George”. I love him “to space”! His phrase 🙂

Baby Logic #49 – Compliments

Lately Ro is dishing out compliments as if his life depends on it. It’s very sweet when you’re at the receiving end. Examples:

“Daddy, I love you all the way up to space!!! That’s higher than the moon!”

“Daddy, you’re a good pilot!” – he really said that!

“Daddy?” me: “Yes, Ro?” Ro:  “I love you!” – Awwww.

“Daddy, you have the fastest/biggest/prettiest car – I like fast/big/pretty cars!”

“Daddy, I love mommy!” me: “I love mommy, too” Ro: “But your mommy is Oma!”

“Daddy, I love playing with you!’

“Daddy,  I love what you cooked. And love is more good than like” – his words – still working on the grammar here.
