BasicMed allows pilots in the US to fly aircraft upto 6000lbs MTOW, at IAS of upto 250kts at or below 18000ft MSL. The pilot must pass a physical every 48 months (to the day) and take an online training class every 24 months to be current. BasicMed is currently recognized in the US, the Bahamas and Mexico. International flights to Canada are currently not authorized under basic med.
